We have been learning about the letter ‘Pp’ this week during our literacy sessions. To celebrate the end of the unit we were allowed to wear our PYJAMA’S to school! We looked very cute!
On Thursday the 28th of August 2014, Oatlands Primary School held a special Football Day to celebrate Literacy and Numeracy Week. We each brought to school a gold coin donation and we wore our favourite footy team colours. The school is going to use all of the collected money to buy wonderful new books for us to read. Take a look at our photos – we looked amazing!
Today Senior Constable Brad and his dog Lex from the Dog Squad came to visit us here at OPS. Senior Constable Brad told us lots of interesting things about his job as a police officer. He explained that policeman’s job was to protect the community and help people. He showed us his uniform, his vest, his handcuffs and his very big police dog Lex!! The children all loved having a pat of his beautiful dog and looking in his police car. Thank you Senior Constable Brad and Lex for visiting us – we LOVED it!!!
Today we took a look in our lunch boxes and chose four things to order from the lightest to the heaviest. Once we had ordered our items we walked around the classroom to look at what other people had in their lunch boxes. We found that a lot of people had heavy items such as bananas in their lunch box.
Last week Prep HW went to the kitchen to bake some WEETBIX SLICE! We used lots of ingredients; weetbix, cocoa, coconut, sugar, butter and water. We mixed the ingredients together and then pressed it into the baking tin. Then we put it in the oven to cook for 15 minutes. When it was cooked, Vicki took it out of the oven for us and iced the slice once it was cooled. We had so much fun making it and it tasted delicious!
