Wishing everybody a Happy Easter and safe holiday. See you all back at school Monday April 13th
Today Prep HW children participated in some fun ‘fine motor skill’ rotations in the classroom. At school we need to have strong hand muscles and co-ordination in order to do our handwriting, cutting, drawing and much more! Today we set up 4 activities which help to develop our fine motor skills. We did threading beads onto a piece of string, squeezing play-doh through plastic pushers, created pictures using hammer tap and sorted fruit using plastic tweezers. We loved completing each of the activities. These are activities you could re-create at home too using pasta to thread onto a shoelace, using tweezers to pick up small objects and of course playing with play-doh!
This week we are learning about the letter Rr. We went to the kitchen for the first time to do some exciting cooking!!! We made RAINBOW cookies. It was so much fun!!! First we mixed the ingredients together, then we made our Rainbow Cookies and put them in the oven to cook. While we waited for them to finish baking we completed a writing sheet about our Rainbow Cookie. When the timer went off we took our Rainbow Cookies out of the oven to cool. We packed them in our lunch boxes to take home. We hope you like them!!!
Last week Prep HW children were introduced to their official Grade 5 Buddy for the year. Our Buddy Grade is Grade 5ED and their teacher is Miss Doyle. We had a lovely time meeting our Buddy and we completed a ‘Getting to know my buddy’ sheet. We will meet with our Buddy every few weeks. Take a look at all the friendly faces 🙂
